Pacers done; most people still doing just fine

The Pacers are done before May.  That is unsatisfying.  But the Pacers were never going to beat the Cavaliers in a 7-game series.

The Pacers were in all four games.  You could make an argument that this series SHOULD be 2-2 right now.  But the Pacers were never going to beat the Cavaliers in a 7-game series.

Lance "Romance" Stephenson fouled out while LeBron James made two steals in the 4th quarter.  LBJ fouled a Pacer both times he stole the ball and it wasn't called.  But the Pacers were never going to beat the Cavaliers in a 7-game series.

Regardless, with about a minute and a half remaining in the game, I am standing in a modified defensive position about a foot from the television as my son claps loudly and the Pacers lead by one point.  Within seconds, LBJ does something, the Pacers do nothing and I find myself muttering (yet clearly enunciating) a series of staccato F-bombs. But the Pacers were never going to beat the Cavaliers in a 7-game series.

Quick Hits:

This weekend I told anyone that would listen that yesterday's Spurs @ Grizzlies game was not worth a watch.  It turned out to be a classic contest.  I always found the Greg Popovich/Tim Duncan Spurs kind of a boring watch.  It looks like the new Kawhi Leonard Spurs might be appointment television.

Big night ahead for sports fans in the DMV with the Capitals playing the Maple Leafs in Game 6 in Toronto and the Nationals looking to complete a sweep of the NY Mets.

Oh, the Reds got the win today over the Cubs to move back into first place in the NL Central. But the Reds are never going to win the 2017 World Series.
